Crash of truck carrying frozen chicken causes tie up on I-91

MERIDEN — A crash involving a truck carrying frozen chicken caused tie ups on I-91 Sunday.

Traffic was backed up for miles after the crash on I-91 north near Exit 19 around 10 a.m.

Officials said there were minor injuries in the crash of the tractor-trailer carrying 78,000 lbs of chicken meat.

The Department of Consumer Protection was on scene to inspect the load.
