FAIRFIELD - Texas took home the win in Thursday's elimination game for the Little League World Series after they played Fairfield American.

The score was 14-4 and fans packed Colony Grill in Downtown Fairfield to watch the game on the big screens.

"This is like Fairfield American Central here!" said Larry Klein of Fairfield.

"We are out of our minds excited. We want those boys to do anything they can!" said Samantha Bernstein of Fairfield.

People were decked out in t-shirts and uniforms cheering and applauding.

"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to get this far. These guys obviously took it a little further. It's a great tradition, it's a great program," said former coach, John Merturi of Fairfield.

One woman who is no stranger to the Little Leaguers said her nephew was on the 2012 team that went to Williamsport.

"I could cry thinking about it. I feel so proud. I feel so proud. I feel so connected to the town and all the families. A couple of the little boys on the team went to grammar school with my daughter," said Samantha Bernstein of Fairfield.

Across the table from Bernstein was Larry Klein, a former coach for the 2010 team that also went to Williamsport.

"I never realized what people were doing while we were there, so this is kind of fun. It's much more relaxing than being here," said Klein.

Texas will be advancing to the U.S. Championship on Saturday and will be playing North Carolina.
