Overnight shooting in New Haven leaves one injured

NEW HAVEN —  Police say a man has been shot in the overnight hours in New Haven.

The shooting happened on Richard Street around 3:15 a.m. Police say they had a report of a shot fired in the area.

When police arrived on the scene, they found 33-year-old Jose Antonio Rolon shot in the back. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. The wound was non-life threatening.

Rolon did not provide a description of the suspect.
