1 in custody, 1 on the run after following armed robbery in Westbrook

WESTBROOK —  A Norwalk man is facing criminal charges following an armed robbery  that took place in a Denny’s parking lot late Friday morning.

State police arrested Shadrach Ferguson, 23, of Norwalk and charged him with interfering with an officer (non-assaultive).

Police said the incident took place at Denny’s Restaurant located at 28 Flat Rock Place around 11:30 a.m.

“The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and were located at the Interstate 95 southbound rest in Madison a short time later. The accused who fled on foot was located and taken into custody approximately an hour later in a wooded area behind the rest area in Madison,” said police.

Police said the other suspect is on the run and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Ferguson is being held on a $10,000 bond.
