MERIDEN — Police say an elderly woman was struck by a car Thursday night in Meriden.
Police say they were dispatched around 7:30 p.m., in the area of the Stop & Shop on Broad Street.
When officers arrived, the found an 87-year-old woman laying in the middle lane of Broad Street. She was struck by a Ford Edge that was traveling north on Broad Street.
The woman was taken to Hartford Hospital with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. She suffered injuries to her legs, midsection, and head. Police are not identifying her at this time.
The driver of the car stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
