New London police investigate homicide

NEW LONDON — New London police are investigating a homicide after they found a man who had been shot.

Just after 1 a.m. Monday, police said they rushed to the scene of Elms Street and Garfield Avenue after getting a report that someone was shot.

When emergency crews arrived, they found Joshua Fine, 27, of New London, with a gunshot wound. Fine was laying on the ground. The victim was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital where he later died.

The scene was secured, and police began to search for the suspect.
