Fire destroys vacant Stafford Springs home

STAFFORD SPRINGS — An early morning fire burned a home to the ground, Wednesday.

The fire broke out at 89 Handel Road, with heavy flames overtaking the house.

The call came in just before 1 a.m.

Officials say there were no reported injuries, and the house was vacant.

State and local fire marshal are investigating what may have caused the fire.
