WINDSOR —  Windsor Animal Care and Control said a dog was thrown out of a car on Archer Road near Hayden Station Road Monday.

They said the dog was found on the side of the road. The pitbull has been named Archie since he was found on Archer and Kennedy Road. Animal Control said the suspect may have been in a purple Nissan Rogue.

They believe Archie is about four to five-years old and is very friendly and may have been a pet to someone at one point.
Officers said they have been flooded with calls and emails to adopt the dog, but since Archie is still being medically treated, it might take one to two weeks before he can be adopted.
“Severely neglected, it wasn’t a fighting dog, so there’s no scars on it, it does have some skin allergies, the ears were plugged up and crusty so we’re trying to turn the dog around. We’re doing a couple of blood tests too to find out if there’s something else going on with the dog that would cause this weight appearance,” said Brian Davis with the Windsor Animal Control.

Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control posted to their Facebook page asking anyone with information to contact Windsor Animal Control at 860-688-5273.
