Stand-off over in Milford after domestic incident, suspect taken into custody

MILFORD — Milford Police say a man was taken into custody after a stand-off Friday following a domestic incident.

Police said that at around 5 a.m., they got a call from the neighbor of a domestic violence victim. The victim came to the neighbor, telling her to call police.

The woman was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

Police said while nothing is registered to him, the woman claims the man has long guns in the home.

Police evacuated residents as a precaution. The suspect wasn’t speaking to police, and they had to establish contact with im. Police said there have been no prior incidents with the couple.

The suspect surrendered around 11 a.m., and was taken away in an ambulance.

Police say residents near the home will be able to go back home once the investigation is complete.
