Life Star called after person hit in the head by a cow in Ellington

ELLINGTON — A 23-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital after being hit in the head by a cow.

The man, who works with cows everyday at Oakridge Dairy in Ellington, was in the maternity area when the incident occurred.

Farm officials tell Fox 61 that the man could possibly have a broken jaw.

Details are limited as officials say the worker was alone this morning.

There are 2400 cows on the farm and the milk is supplied to Guida’s.

Tolland County dispatch receiving the 911 call around 4:30 a.m. and Lifestar was sent to the scene.

The man, who’s condition is unknown, was brought to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.
