Victim, 19, identified in fatal Hartford stabbing

HARTFORD — Police have arrested 44-year-old John Drayton of Hartford after they say he stabbed a man Wednesday night, and killed him.

Police say around 11:20 p.m., they were called to 415 Park Street after a witness reported a person stabbed. When they arrived, they found Jahvunique Dean, 19, who had a stab wound in his chest, and was rushed to Hartford Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced dead about a half hour later.

Officers got information on Drayton’s car, and the direction in which he drove off in. Officers began searching the area, and found the car in a driveway at 520 Broad Street. Drayton was also there.

Detectives arrived, and Drayton was identified as the suspect, according to police.

Drayton was charged with Murder. He was arraigned in Hartford court and is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
