HARTFORD — Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is inviting nonprofit organizations, communities, state departments and tribal governments to apply for funding for recreational trails.

The agency is accepting proposals until October 31st for the Connecticut Recreational Trails Program.

The state previously awarded Watertown nearly $253,000 for a pedestrian bridge on the Steele Brook Greenway and more than $9,700 to Thompson’s Trails Committee for trail maintenance.
