VERNON — Vernon Police said a woman has died after she was found on the Rails to Trails hiking area in Vernon.
They said she was found in the area of the Valley Falls Park, near steep cliffs.
She was unresponsive when police found her and was later pronounced dead at Rockville General Hospital.
Police flying drones in the area said they discovered some belongings at the top of the cliff and estimate that the woman may have fallen more than 100 feet. They do not believe she was the victim of foul play but they are investigating the cause of her death.
