HARTFORD — A former Republican, who is campaigning for Connecticut governor with a Democratic running mate, will be on the November ballot.

The Secretary of the State’s Office said Tuesday that Oz Griebel and Monte Frank have received more than the 7,500 of petition signatures necessary to appear on the ballot in the general election.

Griebel is the former head of the MetroHartford Alliance business organization and Frank is a Newtown attorney.

Griebel had sought the backing of the Independent Party of Connecticut, but the party on Sunday endorsed Republican candidate Bob Stefanowski instead.

Griebel says his ticket wants to bring “an independent perspective into the governor’s office next November.”
