Victim identified in fatal motorcycle crash in East Hampton

EAST HAMPTON —  Police said they are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that took place Monday evening.

The accident occurred on Route 66 between Pine Trail and Browning Drive.

Police said the crash happened  just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Laurel Ridge and East High St., , also know as route 66,  for a report of a car collision with a  motorcycle.

Police said the driver of the motorcycle, Roland Cyr, 51 of East Hampton was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, Carla Salerno of Middletown, sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
