EAST HARTFORD --  Police are investigating after a car crashed into a Dollar Tree store located on School Street Monday afternoon.

Video shows a car driving through the entrance of the store, hitting a man. But the car did not stop at the entrance, it continued several aisles into the store before coming to a stop.

Police and fire officials on scene confirmed that only a child was injured and those injuries were described as minor.

The driver, who was not injured, was issued an infraction and the car was eventually towed out of the store. Officials on scene said the driver got her flip-flop style sandal caught on the pedals.

Police advise drivers to not wear flip-flips when driving.

No other details were released.
