Two firefighters treated after fire that killed cat in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD --  Fire damaged a home in Wallingford Sunday afternoon, and left two firefighters injured and a cat in the home died.

The fire was at 427 North Elm St.

Officials said there was heavy fire from garage on arrival which extended to second floor and attic. Firefighters from Wallingford and Meriden extinguished the fire quickly.
