HARTFORD — After a year of uncertainty, Connecticut’s TV and online public affairs network is now back under the control of its old operator.
The Connecticut Network, or CT-N, is now on track to continue its original mission of providing coverage of the legislative, executive and judicial branches, including gavel-to-gavel coverage of Senate and House of Representatives sessions.
The nonprofit Connecticut Public Affairs Network recently won back the contract to operate CT-N following a roughly yearlong dispute with General Assembly leaders and a rebidding of the contract to operate CT-N, which is similar to C-SPAN in Washington, D.C.
About $1 million has been cut from CT-N’s budget, which means CT-N’s extra programming, such as a weekly recap show, will not be returning when the new legislative session opens in January.
