Tony Hanson was one of UConn’s all-time great basketball players. He starred on some stellar Husky teams in the mid-to-late 1970s, including a team that went to NCAA “Sweet 16” in 1976.
As a humanitarian, he was also top-shelf; dedicating his life to helping “at-risk” children and those with special needs in Europe and CT. Hanson died recently at his CT home of a heart attack -- at age 63
