Police investigate a body found near the Springdale rail station in Stamford. Dec. 29, 2018

STAMFORD — New  York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Metro North Railroad have identified a man found deceased near the Springdale station in Stamford on Saturday evening. The discovery and investigation disrupted train service for several hours.

Today MTA Police identified the man as 65-year-old Stephen Sugrue of New Canaan. No cause of death has been determined yet.

MTA Police are actively investigating the incident.
