HARTFORD — The public will have several opportunities to participate in the inauguration of Connecticut’s 89th governor.

Both Wednesday’s swearing-in ceremony at the William A. O’Neill State Armory in Hartford and the inaugural parade that follows are free. The public can also purchase tickets online for the inaugural ball at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. Reduced price tickets are available for young professionals.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday for the 12:30 p.m. swearing-in ceremony. Tickets are not necessary and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Democratic Gov.-elect Ned Lamont’s transition team asks the public to RSVP online beforehand. A separate ceremony is planned for Lt. Gov.-elect Susan Bysiewicz.

The parade will run from the armory, past the Capitol to the intersection of Trinity and Elm streets.

FOX61 will have coverage of the opening of the General Assembly’s 2019 session and the inauguration of Ned Lamont, throughout the day on Wednesday. Join us on-air, online, or on-the-go with the FOX61 News app for complete coverage of the ceremonies and the issues facing our leaders in Hartford.
