One person seriously injured, another in custody after Hartford stabbing

HARTFORD -- A city resident was left seriously injured after being stabbed in a north end neighborhood late Friday evening.

Police and EMS responded to Sargeant Street in the area of Woodland Street, where a feud between two adult males was growing increasingly hostile. The argument escalated until one of the men violently stabbed the other in a fit of rage.

The victim, a 48-year-old Hartford man, immediately drove himself to St. Francis Hospital and was rushed in for treatment of multiple stab wounds.

Police arrived to the scene on Sargeant Street minutes later and placed a 63-year-old suspect into custody.

Neither the suspect nor the victim's identities have been made public, although police are working to reveal those details soon. The public is not at risk, due to the personal nature of the argument and subsequent attack.

The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
