NEW HAVEN – Police say one person was killed when two cars collided about 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Police say a Ford pick-up truck, driven by a 21-year-old New Haven resident, and a Honda minivan, driven by a 62-year-old West Haven resident, collided as one turned into an intersection at Kimberly Avenue at Ella T. Grasso Boulevard.

Police say a passenger in the minivan, Kathleen Farrell, a 55-year-old West Haven resident, was rushed to Yale-New Haven hospital where she later died. Other people involved in the crash were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is being investigated by the NHPD Accident Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6316.
