Police: Plainville man arrested, driving wrong way on I-84

PLAINVILLE — State Police say they’ve arrested 32-year-old Daniel Vice after he was driving the wrong way on I-84.

Police say they received multiple 911 calls around 12:43 a.m. Monday, reporting a wrong way driver. According to the calls, Vice was driving eastbound on the I-84 westbound lanes in Plainville near exit 33.

State Police say they were able to stop Vice near exit 39, and he showed signs of driving under the influence. According to police, he failed the field sobriety tests.

Vice was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, driving the wrong way, and reckless endangerment. He is set to appear in Hartford Superior Court on February 26th.

The arrest comes one day after two people were killed in a head on collision on I-91 that involved a wrong way driver.
