HARTFORD -- Police say they are investigating their third homicide of the year.
According to police, they were called to the area of 198 Woodland Drive on a 'suspicious death'. around 1:30 a.m.
When they arrived at the scene, they found 26-year-old Joseph Goiangos from Middletown dead outside the apartment complex.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that he had been shot in the chest. A small caliber bullet was removed.
Police also say that there were no shotspotter activations.
According to police, there hasn't been a rash of shootings or other violent crimes in the area in the past.
The person who found Goiangos this morning was a resident who went out to their car, heading to work. Police don't know at this time if Goiangos was killed there or was killed somewhere else and dropped off to the location.
