PD: Mother killed in hit-and-run in North Haven

NORTH HAVEN --  Police said a 57-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run Monday evening on Ridge Road.

North Haven Fire Department said the hit-and-run happened at the intersection of Ridge Road and Sunset Road arouind 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said on their Facebook Tuesday morning that the victim was Maureen Munzner who was walking with her two children on Ridge Road when she was struck by a red Ford Fusion. The driver fled the scene.

Police said that Munzner was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to police, investigators found and seized the Ford as evidence, and the driver has been identified, though they don't specify if there are any charges.

No other details have been released.
