WINDHAM -- Fire crews confirm one person was killed in a house fire in Windham early this morning.
The house was located on Bass Road. The fire broke out around 4:15 a.m. according to officials.
When they arrived at the scene, fire crews say they saw heavy fire showing from one side of the house.
All Windham fire departments, a hospital medic, and crews from Mansfield and Scotland all responded.
A woman, 50-55 years old, was found in the home after crews put out the fire. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. At this time it's undetermined what the cause of death was.
The fire is currently under investigation by State Police and the State Fire Marshal.
