Police investigate Stamford’s first homicide of 2019

STAMFORD  — Police in Stamford are investigating the city’s first homicide of the year.

Police say the male victim was shot around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

Officers who arrived at the scene in the city’s South End found the man sitting in the front seat of a car suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name and age have not been released pending family notification.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

There were three homicides in Stamford in 2018. There were no homicides in the city in 2017, a more than 30-year low.
