SEYMOUR - Seven Seymour High School students were treated at a local hospital Thursday after they were sickened following a vaping incident in the school.
Thursday night, police have announced they've arrested a 15 year old female student, at Seymour High, who police say brought a vaping pen to school and shared it with other students. She has been hit with multiple charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal distribution/sale of marijuana.
And, police say the liquid in the vape pen tested positive for THC, which is the primary active ingredient in pot.
"Some students were messing around with that and there is some apparently some pesticide in it," said Griffin Tomas, a senior. "So, they weren’t feeling too well after that, I guess."
Griffin's father mirrors the thoughts of many parents.
"You just hope that you give your kid a strong enough foundation that he can make his own decisions," said George Tomas.
Police say all but one of the students that became ill Thursday morning are females.
