NEW HAVEN – New Haven Police say they are investigating multiple crime scenes in the Elm City today.
They say one person was stabbed about 1:00 pm on Harding Place between Dixwell Avenue and Sherman Parkway. Two men were taken into police custody and charges are pending for both suspects.
Investigators said the victim had been confronted outside his residence by two men. During the altercation, the men physically assaulted and stabbed the victim. The men left the area on foot and a short time later at nearby Dixwell Avenue and Bassett Street, New Haven Police Patrol officers took the two men into custody.
Arrested are two brothers, 24 year old Dawud W. Amin and 19 year old Nadir Amin, both of New Haven. Dawud W. Amin is charged with conspiracy to commit first degree assault and assault third degree. His bond was set at $100,000.
Nadir Amin is charged with assault first degree and conspiracy to commit assault first degree. His bond was set at $200,000.
Another person was shot about 1:15 pm in near 1423 Quinnipiac Avenue. That suspect was identified 44 year-old New Haven man. As of Monday, he was listed in stable condition.
