Glider plane crashes into Danbury home

DANBURY -- An electric glider has crashed into the roof of a Danbury home.

Mayor Mark Boughton and Danbury fire officials tell the Hartford Courant that the glider's pilot suffered minor injuries in the crash Tuesday, and three people in the home at the time were not injured.

The fire department tells the newspaper that the glider plane took off from Danbury Municipal Airport and lost power over the city, forcing it into an emergency landing.

The glider hit a home in the middle of a residential neighborhood, a few blocks from Danbury High School.

Fire officials told the newspaper the pilot was taken to a hospital with unspecified minor injuries. The three occupants of the home were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
