LEDYARD – Route 214 in Ledyard was closed for almost four hours Saturday as police investigated an early morning crash.
The accident happened about 6 a.m. Police say two vehicles were involved, one a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital by Life Star helicopter for a serious leg injury. No one in the car was injured.
The Ledyard Fire Company says Life Star helicopter landed at the Ledyard Center School. The Gales Ferry Fire Company also responded to the scene.
Route 214 (Stoddards Wharf Road) was closed between Route 117 and Whale Head Road while police conducted their investigation. The road reopened about 10 a.m.
