NEW CANAAN — It’s been four weeks since Jennifer Dulos was reported missing and as State Police continue searching for the missing mom of 5, Carrie Luft has released a new statement on behalf of family and friends.

“Four weeks have elapsed since Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared. None of this feels real. We tell ourselves that this kind of nightmare happens to people in stories, not to those we know and love.

But this situation is real, and it is dire. Each passing day intensifies the impact of this tragedy on Jennifer’s children, who have not seen their mother—the guiding presence in their lives—in 28 days.

The New Canaan and Connecticut State police are working around the clock to find Jennifer and to solve the mystery of her disappearance. We are immensely grateful for their dedication. Thank you also to the greater New Canaan and Farmington-Avon communities, who have buoyed our spirits with their support and solidarity.

Many people have asked for more details about Jennifer, as a person, a mom, a friend. Jennifer is brilliant and creative—she graduated with honors from Brown University and earned an MFA in writing from NYU. As a teen, she was a nationally ranked junior squash player. Much more important, Jennifer is a deeply genuine person, compassionate and trustworthy. She is also subtly hilarious. She loves silly movies as much as she loves great literature. An avid traveler, she delights in learning about other people and has imbued her five children with this love of discovery. She cares about her children more than anything in the world.

Please know that the kids are safe and surrounded with love. They are embodying what Jennifer has taught them: to support each other with unity. If she could see them right now, she would be extremely proud.

We ask that if you have any information about Jennifer’s disappearance, her whereabouts, or any events in between, call the New Canaan police tip line at (203) 594-3544 or email FindJenniferDulos@newcanaanct.gov. Your identity will be protected. Please help find Jennifer. Thank you.”

New Canaan police also provided a new update on the Dulos  Friday, June 21. See below.

On May 24, 2019, at approximately 6:59 PM, the New Canaan Police Department received a report of a missing person.

The missing person was identified as Jennifer Dulos (“Jennifer”), age 50, a New Canaan resident and the mother of five children.

Since receiving the initial call that Jennifer was missing on May 24, 2019, the New Canaan Police Department Patrol Division and Investigative Section partnered with the Connecticut State Police Western District and Central District Major Crime Squads, Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, the Stamford/Norwalk State’s Attorney and other Connecticut law enforcement agencies have worked tirelessly to locate Jennifer.

Nearly a week after Jennifer’s disappearance on June 1, 2019  Fotis Dulos and Michelle Troconis were taken into custody in Avon, Connecticut and both were charged with Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree.

As was stated early on, this is both a missing person investigation as well as a criminal investigation.  The criminal investigation is active and dynamic with as many as 25 investigators from both the New Canaan Police Department as well as the Connecticut State Police working on the investigation on a daily basis.

These investigators are continuing to sort through evidence collected, this evidence consist of both physical and digital.  Additionally Investigators continue to investigate leads and tips as they become known.  Currently the New Canaan Police have received nearly 900 tips and over 80 video submissions from requests for video surveillance from both residences and businesses.  Physical evidence that was collected through this investigation has been or will be submitted to the State Forensic Lab for further examination.

The search for evidence by the Connecticut State Police as it is related to the disappearance continues to take place at MIRA in Hartford and should be concluded in the very near future. This is a tedious process and requires careful examination of each item for any connection to the disappearance of Jennifer.   An exact ending date for the search taking place at MIRA is not known at this time.

We urge everyone with information regarding Jennifer’s disappearance to contact us.

In addition to the tip line, 203-594-3544, tips and information regarding Jennifer’s disappearance can be sent to FindJenniferDulos@newcanaanct.gov and submitted anonymously at www.FindJenniferDulos.com

Finally we want to thank the communities of both New Canaan, Farmington and Avon for the support and appreciation that has been expressed to members of both the New Canaan Police and Connecticut State Police for their dedication and commitment to this investigation.

Meanwhile, Jennifer’s estranged husband Fotis Dulos, 51, has been charged with evidence tampering and hindering prosecution in relation to the disappearance of Jennifer, a mother of 5.

Fotis’ girlfriend Michelle Troconis, 40, was also arrested and charged in connection to Jennifer’s disappearance.

Troconis posted bond days before Fotis, who was released from custody last week.
