Police investigating East Granby crash involving motorcycle, bicycle

GRANBY — Police are investigating a serious crash between a motorcycle and a bicycle that happened on Thursday.

State Police say the two vehicles collided shortly before noon on Turkey Hills Road (CT-20) just west of Granger Circle Road.  Gail Gridley, age 60 of Windsor, was riding her bike north on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, and crossing Turkey Hills Road in the crosswalk, according to police. She was struck by a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 47-year-old Jason Parrott of Agawam, MA.

Gridley sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital. Jason Parrott and a passenger on the motorcycle, Corena Parrott, were taken to Hartford Hospital for minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while State Police collected evidence. It reopened shortly after 4 p.m. The accident remains under investigation.
