New Haven police investigating bank robbery

NEW HAVEN — Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Monday morning.

The robbery happened at Santander Bank branch at 215 Grand Avenue in the Fair Haven neighborhood around 9:35 a.m.

Police said black female or male was observed on cameras entering the back of the bank through the Ferry Street entrance. They said the robbery suspect was dressed as a female but had an extremely deep voice and was wearing a white long sleeve shirt under a floral printed sleeveless dress, a dark colored wig with Auburn highlights, peach colored sunglasses, and a large purse. The suspect had a slim build and was of average height. There was no mention of a weapon during the robbery.  Taken was an undisclosed amount of money.
