Tree falls onto house in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN -- Monday afternoon's storms left behind downed wires and trees across the state, but for one home in Middletown, an entire tree landed on a home on Main Street.

The wind was strong enough to rip a huge tree straight from its roots, toppling down on the house.

The right side of the home suffered significant damage, but officials said the house was vacant during the time and no injuries were reported.

"Everyone was alright I mean but luckily it didn't do too much damage to the house and nobody got hurt," said Joshua Silva of East Hartford.

Next doors neighbors tell FOX61 that the tree managed to only knock out one of their windows on the second floor of their home.
