BETHEL — Police responded early Saturday morning for a reported stabbing at a home on Plumtree Street.

On scene, officers found one person suffering  from multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to Danbury hospital where they later succumbed to their wounds and died.

Police say that minutes after their arrival at the scene, 34-year-old David MacDowell arrived at the Bethel Police Department and spoke with a dispatcher. Police arrested him a short time later, and charged him with manslaughter. He is currently being held on $1 million dollars bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Danbury Superior Court.

Police say they are still actively investigating the case, and that they will release more information once the victim’s family is located and notified.
