New Haven area emergency crews pull body from the water


NEW HAVEN — Emergency crews recovered the body of a person missing in the water Sunday evening.

Officials said crews from New Haven and West Haven were called to the West River, north of Boston Post Road Bridge and recovered the body of a 48 year old man.

The Coast Guard said they were asked to assist New Haven to help find a subject in the water. They were unable to go as the water was too shallow. The Milford and Guilford dive teams also assisted.

Officials said the identity of the will be released after kin are notified.
