NORWALK, Conn. (AP) — A standoff between authorities and a Connecticut man who allegedly threatened hospital workers has ended.

The Hour reports that 52-year-old Norwalk resident Joseph Sander was engaged in a standoff inside his home with police around 11 a.m. Friday.

Authorities allege he threatened workers at Stamford Hospital earlier this month.

During a call to the Department of Mental Health, he allegedly said they were “lucky he didn’t shoot the place up” for his alleged experience at the hospital.

Earlier this month, police seized seven handguns, two rifles and a shotgun, along with ammunition, on a warrant for a “person posing risk to self or others.” He was not charged.

In 2011, Sanders allegedly threatened his wife’s parents and to shoot the police. Police seized his firearms but they were later returned.
