NEW HAVEN – Police are investigating a homicide in New Haven.
The city’s ShotSpotter system alerted police to gunfire in the area of Shelton Avenue between Goodrich and Read Streets just after 2 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived and found a 35-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he died of his wounds.
When officers arrived, they located a 35-year-old male victim from Hamden, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police have not released the victim’s identity.
