Lamont estimates he raised close to $450,000 for Biden

HARTFORD — Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont estimates close to $450,000 was raised at a recent presidential campaign fundraiser that he and his wife held for former Vice President Joe Biden.

While Lamont said Monday he considers the fundraising haul to be `pretty good,” he doesn’t expect to organize any additional events for Biden, saying he was focusing on his job as governor.

More than 100 people attended the Oct. 20 fundraiser, held at the Lamonts’ Greenwich home. The suggested donation was $2,800, the maximum contribution under federal law for the presidential primary.

Prior to Lamont’s event, Democrats Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and California Sen. Kamala Harris raised more than Biden in Connecticut during the third quarter.

Republican President Donald Trump also raised more in Connecticut last quarter than Biden.
