STAMFORD — Five months after his estranged wife’s disappearance, Fotis Dulos made a quick appearance in court.

Outside of Stamford Superior Court, Dulos stayed on message. ”The only thing I have to say, again, one more time, is that my only concern are my children.” he says. “I care deeply about them and I can’t wait to be with them again. That’s it. Thank you.”

The brief court appearance to schedule a date for a pretrial hearing. Missing from the proceedings was Norm Pattis, Dulos’ staple attorney. Instead Chris Latronica, another criminal defense attorney, joined Dulos. He was brought on as an outside attorney to help work on the case.

Pattis filed a motion with the Connecticut Supreme Court last week arguing that the gag rule put into effect for the prosecution and defense infringes on Dulos’ first amendment rights to free speech and sixth amendment rights to a fair trial.

He faces charges of tampering with evidence and hindering a prosecution in the disappearance of his estranged wife, Jennifer.

The court did not address the gag order appeal, but did schedule a pretrial hearing for January 7, 2020.
