STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ People across Connecticut will be gathering for parades and ceremonies to honor those who have served their country in the military.

Most of the Veterans Day events are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 11, which is the day World War I ended in 1918.

Parades are planned in Milford on Saturday and in Stamford and Manchester on Monday. Ceremonies are scheduled in New Haven, Danbury, New Britain, East Hartford and Torrington. Events also will be held in many other cities and towns.

The New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks will hold its annual tribute program for veterans on Monday.

Gov. Ned Lamont says the state with illuminate the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven in red, white and blue lights on Sunday and Monday evenings.
