MANCHESTER -- Just a little before noon, Manchester Police Department were dispatched to Broad Street near Center Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
Responding personnel arrived and discovered a car versus pedestrian incident that resulted in serious injuries to the male pedestrian.
Emergency medical care was given on-scene and the victim was transported to Hartford Hospital.
The pedestrian ultimately died from his injuries despite continuous medical care.
The victim was identified by police as Daniel Zumpe,43.
The lone male operator of the involved vehicle stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit and the Metro Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
