COLCHESTER -- A Colchester family has been missing for over a week in Florida according to their family. Now, they believe their disappearance could be linked to a death investigation in Florida.

Friends and family members say they have not heard from the Todt family of five in over a week. Tony and Megan Todt are well known in the Colchester community and own Family Physical Therapy in town.

“The feds were here with their cars and personnel, and I didn’t think much of it because there’s usually activity down the road with drug abuse. Then when we looked out his door was open and his car was open, and when I asked the landlord he said he was being investigated and I left it at that,” said Priya Tandon, M.D.

"The Office of the Attorney General can confirm we have an open False Claims Act investigation into Anthony Todt. Beyond that, we are unable to comment or provide further details." said Elizabeth Benton, Director of Communications.

The First Selectman's office in Colchester put out a statement regarding the family's disappearance:

In Celebration, Florida, four people were found dead inside a home Monday, and a man was taken away in handcuffs. Friends of the family say the Todts recently moved to Celebration from Colchester, but that Tony Todt had been traveling back and forth to continue running his business.

Connecticut State Police emailed a statement in the case:

The news reports out of Celebration, Florida are heartbreaking and as an agency we want to express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.

To date, the Connecticut State Police has not received any request from local authorities in the Florida area to assist in this investigation. We are confident in their ability to conduct a thorough investigation. We ask that the public exercise patience while the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department releases information as  these types of investigation tend to be complex

The Osceola County Sheriff's Department has not confirmed the identity anyone involved at this time.
