HARTFORD, Conn. — FOX61 is set to launch its new “Connecticut’s News Station” branding with a 30-second commercial during halftime of Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.
The new branding speaks to FOX61 News’ evolution as a trusted, balanced and “always on” source of news for Connecticut residents.
From the state’s only All Local All morning newscast to Connecticut’s most-watched primetime news – the FOX61 News at 10 p.m. – the TEGNA-owned station produces more local daily news than anything other in Connecticut. It is also available 24/7 and on-demand on FOX61+, the local streaming app that is reaching a growing audience on Roku and Fire TV.
“Our commitment to local news is our top priority every day,” said FOX61/CW20 president and general manager Humberto Hormaza. “We have listened to our viewers, and they have made it clear to us they seek a consistent source of accurate, balanced, inclusive and trustworthy news for the stories that matter to them and their communities. We are thrilled to deliver this message during the Super Bowl, which is anticipated to be the single most-viewed television program in Connecticut this year.”
"Wherever you are in Connecticut, you will always be able to turn to FOX61, Connecticut’s News Station to inform you and keep your family safe,” said Richard Washington III, FOX61 news director. “We have built a solid team of journalists and meteorologists who know the people of Connecticut and understand their needs. Our new brand is aligned with our mission to be the trusted source for news in this market.”
