HARTFORD, Conn. — FOX61 News will debut a new hour-long newscast at 6 p.m. starting on Monday, Oct. 10, it was announced Friday.
The new FOX61 at 6PM – Connecticut’s only hour-long 6 p.m. newscast – will be anchored by Jenn Bernstein, Ben Goldman and chief meteorologist Rachel Frank.
“Our number one goal is to provide the critical news and information our audience wants and needs,” said FOX61 president and general manager Humberto Hormaza in a statement. “This new hour of news content at 6:00 will do exactly that with all local content to help our audiences navigate their daily lives.”
FOX61 News Director Richard Washington III said viewers have shown there is a need for Connecticut-focused news, storytelling and weather coverage at 6 p.m.
“This additional hour ensures we have time for more in-depth stories, breaking news and weather reporting that is so important to our viewers,” he said in a statement.
FOX61 News at 6PM will be part of 10 ½ hours of live local news programming produced every weekday by the FOX61 News team, including Connecticut’s only All Local All Morning newscast, FOX61 Morning News and the leading primetime newscast in the market, FOX61 News at 10PM.
