HARTFORD, Conn — Even though the heat and humidity are sticking around through the weekend, there are still plenty of fun things to do all around the Constitution State. Here are some ideas:
This event is happening Saturday and Sunday in New London. It’s Southeastern Connecticut's premiere summer event. The two-day festival features a variety of ships on display, more than 200 vendors, amusement rides, and multiple stages of live entertainment. There will also be other fun activities like a pirate experience for kids on Sunday and a puppy kissing booth. And don’t miss the spectacular fireworks show that is happening at the festival Saturday night.
This event is happening Saturday in Mystic. It’s a pop-up, paddle-craft-only rally on the Mystic River. Kayakers, paddle boarders, and non-motorized boaters are invited to gather on the river to enjoy rock and reggae music being performed live on a floating stage. It’s a great opportunity to get out on the water and beat the heat!
This event is happening Saturday and Sunday in Riverton. This festive and fun event is filled with holiday cheer! It includes scenic wagon rides, a vendor marketplace, Christmas carolers, specialty food items, activities for kids and much more. Plus, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
This event is happening Saturday and Sunday at the Berlin Fairgrounds “The ultimate pickle experience.” This festival is celebrating all things pickles! Highlights include a pickle eating contest, pickle shot put challenge, homemade pickle contest and free pickle samples! Off-site parking and shuttle buses are available from Sage Park off of the Berlin Turnpike.
Hartford Yard Goats And Waverly Markets Diaper Drive
Donation collection is happening Saturday. The Hartford Yard Goats are teaming up with a local non-profit to host a diaper drive! They'll be collecting diapers at ShopRite locations in Manchester, East Hartford and Vernon. All size diapers are needed, along with boys and girls pull-ups and baby wipes.
This event is happening Saturday in West Hartford. West Hartford Public Libraries is hosting an event celebrating all things adventure, fantasy, board games, live action role-playing and tabletop roleplaying games. It’s for all ages and dressing up is encouraged!
Is happening Saturday and Sunday in Ansonia. It’s a family-friendly interactive fantasy-world experience. It is a show with scripted actors who bring attendees into the performance. It will feature local vendors, costumes, musical performances, a fire show and more!
