Events happening in Connecticut weekend of Sept. 12-15

It's the final full weekend of summer before fall arrives. Here's what's happening around Connecticut for the weekend.

HARTFORD, Conn. — It's the final full weekend of summer before fall arrives. Fair season is in full swing and this weekend will be warm and sunny for the outdoor festivals and events happening around Connecticut.

As fair season continues, The Berlin Fair in Berlin and the Four Town Fair in Somers are happening Thursday through Sunday. Both fairs feature animal shows, tractor pulling and craft and agriculture exhibitions.

The Eastern States Exposition, better known as The Big E, is opening Friday and will be open until Sept. 29 in West Springfield, Mass.

The New Haven Grand Prix is once again zipping through the Elm City on Friday. Events for junior cyclists, pros, and the masters take place between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Can't get enough of New Haven-style apizza? Head over to the hub of "The Pizza Capital of the United States" for the 9th Annual Apizza Fest while you watch the grand prix. Hartford Pride is happening all weekend long in the capital city. On Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. on Church Street, there will be a family-friendly event that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and will feature entertainment, live music, food, activities, and more. The After Party will be on Pratt Street Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Pink Eggs and Glam, a drag brunch, will happen Sunday on Pratt Street from noon to 5 p.m.

Oktoberfest is upon us! The 2nd Annual Fairfield Oktoberfest will feature seasonal brews, local eats and live music. It's happening Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. in The Lot at FTC and Sanford Street Lot.

The Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party is making a stop in Hartford this weekend. This larger-than-life show will have three shows throughout Saturday and Sunday at the XL Center, and each includes a pre-show. Details and tickets can be found here.
