HARTFORD, Conn. — Hay! What's the hold-up in Hartford?
Connecticut State Police are now cleaning up Interstate 91 south near the Exit 30 on-ramp after bales of hay tumbled off of an overturned flatbed truck and onto the road.
Around 11 a.m. Friday, troopers warned motorists of the closed down on-ramp, and showed the bales of hay, with most still intact, littering the highway.
It's not clear how long it will take to clear out the "impromptu hayfield", but troopers ask people to avoid the area, including bringing any livestock grazing on their lunch break.
"We’re going to 'make hay' with this post. Soon, this situation will be 'baled” out,' state police said in a post on Facebook.
State police have not reported any injuries, and have not yet found any potential needles in the haystacks.
